Project Manager - Northampton
Approach Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a reputable construction developer who are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong drive to succeed and progress.
Day to Day:
- Capable of managing projects over £10m
- Demonstrate forward planning and leadership in project delivery.
- Ensure the timely delivery of projects.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment on site.
- Delivering the level of quality required in accordance with quality policy.
- Demonstrate Leadership of ‘on Site’ team
- Formulate and regularly update the contract construction programme & weekly short programmes
- Maintaining a commercial approach to carrying out the site works throughout the course of the
- contract.
- Monitor and record progress on a daily basis.
- Convene, chair and produce minutes of internal project, design, supply chain and review meetings.
- Present Monthly report at management meetings as required
- Monitor and report staff levels and performance.
- Ensure safety services fault management is up to date
- Assist with CM’s responsibilities and duties as required
- Managing Site Managers/Construction Supervisors and delegating various duties to suit the progress
- of the project.
- Prepare and maintain the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan, as well as other contract specific
- safety plans.
- Co-ordinating correspondence, drawings and related information to relevant parties, including the Client, consultants, subcontractors and with the company organisation during the project ensuring that the specified contract requirements are adhered to.
- Preparing and issuing the contractor’s progress report.
- Managing site works to ensure that the construction project is built to the specified requirements.
- Liaising with the Client’s Representative and design team ensuring that the project requirements are adhered to.
- Liaising with the Local Authority Building Control Officer as required during the course of construction works.
- Maintain the SWMP.
- Requisitioning plant and materials via the Buying Department with due consideration to delivery periods and the contract programme.
- Planning and co-ordinating deliveries of materials with respect to storage, protection and progress of the works.
- Checking deliveries on site in respect of quality and quantity and reporting as necessary of any shortcomings.
- Managing site operatives to work efficiently, effectively and safely to the correct Quality
- Monitoring and recording subcontractor performance in relation to the Contract Programme and specification.
- Record variations, contra charges, delays, confirmation of verbal instructions and discrepancies in contract documentation and liaise with the Contract Surveyor in this respect.
- Maintaining weekly site records, e.g. diary, labour register, accident book and weekly reports.
- Signing operatives’ weekly timesheets.
- Carry out the handover process efficiently and problem free.
- Ensure all health, safety, Quality and environmental policies are procedures are adhered to
- Continually inspecting the quality and workmanship of construction works.
- Liaising with the Contract Surveyor with respect to monitoring the financial performance of the contract, variations, contra charges, confirmation of verbal instructions and discrepancies in contract documentation.
About You
- Proven experience as a Project Manager
- Previous experience working for Tier 1 and 2 Contractors is beneficial but not essention
- Relevant Qualifications including SMSTS, Black Card, etc.
